06 August 2022, Shri. K. Moses Chalai, IAS, Secretary North Eastern Council (NEC) Shillong visited RIWATCH. He was accompanied by Shri Tanung Jamoh, Director (S&T) NEC and Shri Tayeng, Jt. Director, Planning, Govt of Arunachal Pradesh. He appreciated the works of RIWATCH especially in the field of preservation of culture & mother languages. A meeting was also held by the District Administration at the conference hall of RIWATCH. Smti. Soumya Sourabh, IAS, Dy. Commissioner briefed about the ongoing developments in the district & opportunities ahead. The Secretary NEC said the district has great potential considering the plain land available compared to other districts of the hilly region. While taking stock of ongoing & upcoming developmental projects supported by NEC in the district, the Secretary specially mentioned about how much it is important to preserve endangered mother languages of northeast. He expressed, for such initiatives, NEC will be happy to associate with RIWATCH.
