WORKSHOP FOR THE DOCUMENTATION OF IDU-MISHMI LANGUANGE AND CULTURE

Introduction

A workshop on the documentation of the Idu-Mishmi language and culture was held from August 5 to 8. The workshop was organised by RIWATCH Centre for mother language (RCML) under the aegis of the Research Institute of World's Ancient Traditions, Culture and Heritage (RIWATCH) in Khinjili, Lower Dibang Valley District. 

Objectives

The main objective of the workshop was to provide an integrated platform for native Idu-Mishmi Speakers and to document their langauge and culture. Some of the specific obejctives includes :

1. Verification of data collected during the field trip

2. Elicitation of data to analyse the suprasegmental features using PRAAT software

3. Carrying out Audio-visual recordings of the Idu-Mishmi words and sentences, and 

4. Collection of additional data on the Idu-Mishmi language and culture. 

Resource Persons

The Resource persons for the workshop was invited from different Idu-Mishmi villages of Lower Dibang Valley District. The Resource personswho participated in the workshop were:
