Swami informed that the Medical Research Lab opened at Roing to study Bronchitis, in collaboration with Stanford University, California involving two medical officers is the first step towards taking Arunachal Pradesh on international platforms

ROING, Sept 16: With an effort to provide better health care facilitates to rural areas of Arunachal Pradesh, the Research Institute of Worlds’ Ancient Traditions Cultures & Heritage (RIWATCH) organized a free medical check-up camp here today at the institute’s campus in Khinjili, Roing.

Over 100 persons were examined by a team of doctors that included Dr Bikul Das of Stanford University School of Medicine, US, who shot to limelight in the medicine world after he made a major breakthrough to crack the elusive cancer code, or a part of it.

Dr Das is also the recipient of a prestigious grant under the Gates Foundation’s Global Health Grant to explore the role of stem cells in the management of tubercular infection.
The medical camp was organized by the Department of Public Health Research, RIWATCH. The other Doctors in the team were Dr SJ Mitapo and Dr Ista Pulu, gynaecologist.
During the camp, medicines were distributed free to the patients. Eye, heart, bones and all forms of disease examinations were done free of cost by the team of 3 doctors. Equal numbers of staff were also present to assist the doctors.
