Our resource person Dr. Hemalatha D. Jain started with introduction of Eco-printing and explained topic related to Eco-printing.

As ma'am explained, the main concept of Eco-printing is to transfer colors and designs from naturally obtained material to fabrics or papers. After that, the process of Eco-printing started. First by collecting flowers, leaves, stones, turmeric and onion peels. And step by step Dr. Hemalatha guided everyone. Then last step of the process was to bury the fabric in ground and wait for 10 days for the end results. Throughout the process the participants learned,

  • Materials that is suitable for natural dyeing.
  • Designs and patterns of different flowers and leaves. Use of light color fabrics and,
  • Use of neutral soap is recommended to wash the final product so that colors and designs stay for longer period.

This environmentally friendly printing, easily achievable and affordable technique was loved by all participants. They enjoyed and learned the process. Our resource person was also impressed with active participants.
