Farmer’s Training on "Enhancing Groundnut Productivity and Profitability using Modern Agrotechniques in Lower Dibang Valley of Arunachal Pradesh”

06 July 2022: A workshop on “Enhancing Groundnut Productivity and Profitability using Modern Agrotechniques in Lower Dibang Valley of Arunachal Pradesh” was conducted at RIWATCH. 

The program started from 10:00 Am and ended at 2:00 Pm. Total 49 farmers from 9 villages of Lower Dibang Valley attended the program.

The program was organised by College of Agriculture Pasighat and supported by NABARD.

Dr A.K Tripathi; Dean, Central Agricultural University Pasighat, Dr Nitya Mili; DDM NABARD, Prof. S.K Bandopadhyay; Dept. of Agronomy,

Ms. Tasso Yatung; Asst. Prof. Horticulture and Shri Pawan Kumar; Course Director acted as Resource persons.

The training covered the topics Nutritional value of Groundnuts, it’s plantation and breeding techniques. Participants actively participate and asked queries related to diseases and pest.

At the end of the program participants were provided with certificate for completing the training and also, groundnut seeds (3kg each) and fertilizers as initial initiation of groundnuts to farmers. Once successful, it will be then taken as nutrients supplement and cash crop in large scale,

After the program ended lunch was provided.

RIWATCH organised this training as a part of its ongoing program of boosting immunity with 150 farmers from 15 villages and based on this ongoing program at 3:00 Pm, three farmers from Jia villages were given vermicompost bag and spray machine.

The training was very helpful and informative, topics covered in during the training were well-received by the participants.
