Roing, 10th September 2025:
A Lecture-cum-Demonstration on creating Mathematics Labs in middle-level schools was organised jointly by RIWATCH and the DDSE office, Roing, at the Panchayat Hall on 10th September 2025.
The objective of the program was to make Mathematics learning more joyful, activity-based, and innovative. The resource person, Mr. Rahul Kokil, Director of Sumanthan Learning Resources, Pune, has been instrumental in establishing over 20 Mathematics Labs, including in the Northeast region.
During the session, Mr. Kokil demonstrated hands-on activities and joyful teaching methods that can effectively be integrated into classrooms. The Mathematics Lab showcased more than 50 educational games and activities designed to strengthen understanding across various concepts of Mathematics.
A total of 29 Mathematics teachers from 25 schools in and around Roing actively participated in the program.
In his inaugural address, Shri Obang Langkam, Block Education Officer, highlighted the importance of setting up Mathematics Labs in schools to make Mathematics—a subject often perceived as difficult—more engaging and enjoyable for young learners.
The program successfully encouraged teachers to adopt innovative tools to transform classroom teaching into an exciting, interactive, and student-friendly learning experience.
