RIWATCH Launches Two Books on Indigenous Cultures and Traditions During the “From Voice to Script” Workshop

During the “From Voice to Script” workshop, organised by RIWATCH in collaboration with the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), New Delhi, two RIWATCH publications focusing on indigenous cultures, traditions and knowledge were launched.

“Decoding Avian Ethology: In Folklore of Northeast India”, authored by Prof. Ajeya Jha, Vice-Chancellor, Arunachal University of Studies, Namsai, was launched by Prof. Ramesh C. Gaur.

The second publication, “Interpreting Cultures and Traditions: Shifting the Lens”, edited by Dr. M. S. Awan, Centre Head, RIWATCH Centre for Mother Languages (RCML), and his team, was launched by Dr. K. Anil Kumar, Head, Janapada Sampada Division and HoD, Kala Nidhi Division, IGNCA.

The workshop brought together community representatives, linguists, academicians, researchers and technical experts, with a focus on combining community knowledge with linguistic and technological expertise for the documentation and preservation of indigenous languages.
