The Arogya Panchkarma and Wellness Centre, RIWATCH, has organise a 10-day training programme in Panchkarma Therapy at the RIWATCH campus in Roing. The programme, being conducted from 17 to 26 August 2026, brings together aspiring therapists and members of the public for an immersive, hands-on learning experience in traditional Ayurvedic therapeutic practices.
The programme provides structured practical training in a range of classical Panchkarma procedures, including Nasya, Shiropichu, Shirodhara, Janu Basti, Steam Bath, Pottali Therapy, Pizhichil, and Greeva Basti. Participants are being introduced to the principles, procedures, practical techniques, and applications associated with these therapies.
The training programme has two key objectives: to create greater public awareness of Panchkarma therapy and its holistic approach to wellness, and to provide aspiring male and female therapists with practical, supervised training that can help develop professional competence in the field.
Around 40 participants are taking part in the programme. The group includes aspiring therapists undergoing hands-on training as well as individuals participating as patients to experience the therapy sessions. This dual approach enables trainees to develop practical skills under supervision while allowing participants to gain firsthand exposure to Panchkarma practices.
During the launch session, Dr Techi Yumyi explained the foundational principles that guide Ayurvedic therapeutic procedures. She highlighted the classical three-stage framework of treatment:
* Purvakarma – preparatory procedures
* Pradhana Karma– the main therapeutic procedure
* Paschat Karma – post-therapy care and follow-up
The 10-day programme has been structured around this framework, with emphasis on practical learning, supervised hands-on training, and understanding the appropriate application of different Panchkarma procedures.
The Arogya Panchkarma and Wellness Centre, operated under RIWATCH, works towards promoting traditional healing systems and Ayurvedic wellness practices. Through training programmes, awareness initiatives, and public outreach, the centre seeks to contribute to the preservation and propagation of traditional Panchkarma knowledge while supporting the development of a skilled pool of therapists.
The 10-day programme will continue at the RIWATCH campus through 26 August 2026, providing participants with an opportunity to learn, practice, and engage with traditional Ayurvedic wellness practices in a structured setting.
